About Old Trails: Varnell and Creech
Please sign in to see more.
► ► ► On this site only the living are hidden from any and all who come
by.
If I didn't want to share with others, I wouldn't have put a tree online to begin with.

Some old trails have grown dim, some have big mudholes here and there to find a way through,
and some just wander into the woods and disappear. But there are great things to discover
along them, and I want to follow them all.

They came in wooden ships and the steerage of liners, for a multitude of reasons. They
cleared the land and planted crops, they opened stores, they built schools and places of
worship. They worked in mills and sweatshops, in mines and offices, and wherever else things
needed doing. They didn't just dream, they worked their tails off, they got through the hard
times, and sometimes fought and even died for what they and their families had and hoped to
have. They did their best to pass their strengths on to their children, and if they also
passed a few faults along, that shows they were human. They are our ancestors. We aren't all
that wouldn't be here were it not for them. They built this country. They made it strong. Let
us never forget them or fail them.

Hi! My name is Dorothy and these are the family trees of my husband and I. His (Varnell) for
his.sons and their kids and their kids, mine (Creech) because I'm kin to a lot of folks and I
have fun chasing them all down, and both because I believe records should be kept of where we
all come from. This is of course still a work in progress, and some days I will get to work on
it and some I won't, but sooner or later I'll get all the stuff I already have down here, and
then can concentrate more on adding new info as I learn it. If something is unsourced yet,
bear with me, I have the sources and will get them all up here eventually. If you are
interested in a name whose sources are not yet in place, contact me and I will give you my
sources on it.

Many. many thanks to my Great-aunt Myrtle Taylor Daniell, who, way back when I was only
sixteen, walked me through a cemetery where some of my ancestors are buried, and got me bitten
by the genealogy bug.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
